CIOFF (Official Partner of UNESCO) accredited Charu Castle Foundation as full National Section & Pawan Kapoor as National Representative

CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts, official partner of UNESCO) held its 47th World Congress in October 2017 in Indonesia, Tenggarong. The General Assembly, that represents over 103 countries around the world, accredited Charu Castle Foundation as a new National Section of India with full membership.

CIOFF India was represented by the National Delegate, Pawan Kapoor, who is the Secretary General of Charu Castle Foundation and presented his vision, efforts and work to the General Assembly of CIOFF.
The new CIOFF India will base its work on the 18 years of experience in the field of culture and education. Their vision to involve more younger generations is closely related to the strategy of CIOFF, which makes youth as one of the priorities in folklore movement. Charu Castle Foundation as an organization behind CIOFF India has also good combination of communication and managing skills that will help them to spread and strengthen the knowledge about folklore inside India and also to the rest of the world .

Since 1970, CIOFF works for the safeguarding, promotion and diffusion of traditional culture. Through its activities, CIOFF promotes the intangible heritage, through forms of expression such as dance, music, games, rituals, customs and other arts; serves the objectives of UNESCO; supports the activities of its members and those of non-governmental organizations working in the areas of folklore and cultural heritage; and serves the cause of peace and non-violence through the implementation of the mentioned objectives.
